The Prospector Theater in Ridgefield will host the Q&A with Walsh over Zoom on Thursday, May 12, after a 7 p.m. screening of "Unplugging," a comedy film he wrote, produced, and co-stars in with Eva Longoria.

Tickets for the screening are available here.

"Unplugging" tells the story of a couple who attempt to reconnect by putting their phones away and going out into nature but quickly end up struggling to cope with their digital detox.

"It's really an exploration of this common problem: we're all on our phones and computers too much," Walsh said. "We really are, and we're missing things that make us healthier, whether it's going into nature or connecting with people we love and not being distracted by devices."

The 57-year-old actor received two Primetime Emmy Awards nominations in 2016 and 2017 for his role as Mike McLintock in the television series "Veep," and he won a Screen Actors Guild Award in 2018.

Walsh has a personal connection to the Prospector Theater, as his nephew, Chris, is an employee there.

The theater is a nonprofit that works to provide competitive employment to individuals with disabilities.

Walsh, a Chicago native, said he appreciates the work that the Prospector does to train people who experience various challenges, adding that his nephew has had the chance to flourish and find a home at the theater.

"I think they train people in the best way in the entertainment industry," he said. "Which for Chris, my nephew, is perfect because he's totally obsessed with comedy and movies, and it's like a dream job."

Walsh plans to stop by the theater on Friday, May 6, to take a tour and drop off a signed poster for his new film. He'll do the Zoom Q&A the following week from his home in Los Angeles.

"I have crazy respect for the Prospector and what they do for the community," he said. "It's a little gem in Ridgefield, and I hope people discover it."
